Ballet Program

For more information about our ballet classes for ages 2 to 4, please see our Preschool Dance Classes.

Dancers Unite believes in dancers receiving proper classical ballet training.  We strive to teach students correct body placement.  Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms, which is why we require it for anyone in the Dance Competition Company who competes in jazz and lyrical; all pointe students; and all students taking Jazz IV or Lyrical/Contemporary II.  Students taking other dance courses at Dancers Unite are encouraged to take ballet; however, we do not make it a requirement.

At Dancers Unite, we break up the ballet classes by age and level for students in elementary, middle and high school, starting with 2nd graders.

If you have any questions on which level your child belongs in, please contact the studio for assistance.

Because of the importance of ballet, ballet classes have a more serious tone.  These classes have a stricter dress requirement as outlined in the following:

Pointe Lessons

Our goal is to not injure dancers by allowing them to dance en pointe too soon. Instead, we will work with dancers to get them ready for pointe lessons. Therefore, students wishing to dance en pointe will need to take a pointe evaluation first. For the evaluation, students will wear ballet shoes. The instructor will evaluate the student and upon teacher approval the student will be able to move into the pointe class; otherwise, the student will need to take a pre-pointe class or private lessons to prepare for taking the pointe class.

So if you wish to take pointe lessons, then you will need to contact the studio at info@dancersunite.net or 704-846-2985 to schedule an evaluation.

Please check out our full schedule of dance classes.
