Charlotte Dance Recital Info
Every year, Dancers Unite puts on an annual recital with a fun theme, which is performed by our wonderful dancers. Every dance class in the fall to spring session will have at least one piece in the dance recital (with the exception of the Jumps/Leaps/Turns Class, which is purely technique).
This year, the dance recital will be on June 2, 2013, with the dress rehearsal on May 30, 2013. The recital will be held at Dana Auditorium, part of the Queens University campus in the Myers Park area of Charlotte.

Dana Auditorium is located on the Queens University campus, in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte. It is housed in the E. H. Little Fine Arts Center, on the corner of Selwyn Avenue and Wellesley Avenue.
Dress Rehearsal
GENERAL INFO
- Thursday, May 30 at Dana Auditorium
- Students in Act I – be ready by 5:00 PM
- Students only in Act II – be ready by 6:00 PM
- Dress rehearsal starts at 5:30 PM
- We will run through the full show in order
- Full costume is required
- Students are required to stay until their last routine has performed
- Parents are not allowed in backstage area to avoid overcrowding
- Students can change in the Green Room (located on the lower level)
YOUNGER STUDENTS (AGE 2-KINDERGARTEN)
- Please meet in the audience by 5:00 PM, dressed and ready
- Students will sit with their dance class & helpers (seats will be marked by class)
- Helpers will take the students backstage prior to their routines
- Helpers will take the students to the Green Room to change shoes after their first routine
- Please label all shoes with the student’s first and last name
- Helpers will take the students back to the auditorium after they have changed shoes
- After the second routine performs, helpers will take the students to the Green Room
- Parents can pick up their students in the Green Room after the second routine performs
OLDER STUDENTS (1st GRADE & UP)
- Students must report backstage 3 dances prior to their routine
- Students may sit in the auditorium before they need to report backstage and after they perform
- Please only leave your seat in the auditorium between routines (do not stand up while a routine is performing)
COMPETITION STUDENTS
- Please meet backstage by 5:00 PM, dressed in the production costume
- Female competition students will use their assigned dressing room located backstage
- Dressing room assignments will be posted backstage
- Students will be performing all competition group routines in addition to their recital routines in their regular classes and the finale
- Competition students are allowed to sit backstage during the dress rehearsal to watch the rehearsal while they are not dancing
Dance Recital
GENERAL INFO
- Sunday, June 2 at Dana Auditorium
- Students in Act I – be ready by 1:30 PM
- Students only in Act II – be ready by 2:00 PM
- Recital starts at 2:00 PM
- Admission is free and open to the public
- Full costume is required
- The dance recital is divided into two acts
- There will be a 15 minute intermission between Act I & II
- Students are required to stay until their last routine has performed
- Parents are not allowed in backstage area to avoid overcrowding
- Students can change in the Green Room (located on the lower level)

Theater Rules
- No food/drink/smoking allowed in auditorium.
- No flash photography allowed - professional action shots are available for purchasing.
- No videotaping – professional DVDs are available for purchasing.
- Turn off all cell phones/pagers/etc.
- No entering/exiting auditorium during routines – wait to leave your seat between routines or at intermission.
- Please feel free to applaud and cheer for your child as well as all students onstage – before, during, and after their routines!

Recital Fee
The $50 recital fee is due October 15th. You can pay the recital fee online using the following steps:
A. Setting Up An Account
The first thing you will need to do if you want to pay the recital fee online is set up an account with us.
At the bottom of the screen you will see
2) Enter the dancer’s first and last name and then click “Next”. Here you will fill out a series of questions, then click “Create Account” at the bottom of the screen.
B. Paying the Recital Fee
To pay the $50 recital fee online you will need to be logged into your account. Once you are logged into your account follow these steps:
1) Click here.
2) Under the heading “Punch Cards and Fees” it states “What would you like to purchase?”
Choose “Fall to Spring Session”
3) You are now asked “Which one would you like to purchase?”
Click "Recital Fee"
4) Click “Check Out”
5) Enter your credit card information and then click “Place Order”
