Dancers Unite is a family owned & operated business, owned by sisters Julie and Elizabeth Emery and their mother Jo.
Our mission is to positively impact every student’s life and give them life skills they can use by
- Teaching them how to work hard to accomplish goals
We expect the best out of our students. We don't require anyone to be perfect – no one is perfect – but we do encourage and expect our students to give their personal best. Learning how to reach a goal through hard work and determination is a wonderful lesson for both in and out of dance class.
- Giving them performance opportunities to help them overcome any stage fright
Dancers Unite holds a yearly dance recital every June. This is a great chance for students of all ages to learn how to be comfortable onstage in a supportive environment. We also have competitive dance companies who compete at local and national competitions in hip hop, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro, musical theater, pom and/or contemporary. We also like to give those students interested the opportunity to perform in extra community events, such as parades.
- Building each student’s self esteem
At Dancers Unite, we believe in a positive teaching environment, with an emphasis on each individual student's growth. Constructive criticism can be an excellent learning tool; criticism with no encouragement is not.
- Providing every student with proper technique to prevent injuries down the line
We take our students' safety very seriously, from our excellent student/teacher ratio, to our injury prevention floors and tumbling mats, to teaching the correct technique. Ballet class is encouraged for all our students (and required for our competitive lyrical and jazz students), but all classes include the proper technique for their specific style of dance. We also monitor each student's progress, so that no student is pushed beyond their level to a point where it may be unsafe.
- Giving them the proper dance skills should they choose to make dance their career
Our instructors are experts in their fields of training, having studied from a variety of prestigious schools and instructors across the world. You can be confident that no matter what class your child may be taking, she or he is receiving the best instruction to help them in their future dance training!
